My opinion is that you want to avoid playing as a foot soldier without proper gear, so I suggest playing fighter squadron till you hit rank 15.
#Star wars battlefront tie defender how to
This means there are many options on how to approach this, and likely many opinions on the best path. The Fighter Squadron game mode does NOT use any purchasable weapons/perks. Some game modes are best done with specific weapons. You can unlock better weapons/perks at higher ranks. Each of the nine game modes has at least one trophy that must be specifically done on that mode. You will also need to win a match on each of the nine game modes. You gain a nice chunk of bonus XP by completing your randomly assigned challenges. You will need a total of 1,987,000 XP to hit rank 50 Doing this will also earn you a stockpile of credits, that you can use to purchase weapons and perks in multiplayer. This will give you a decent understanding of how to play the game in general, get familiar with attacks/perks of the heroes/villains, operate an AT-ST, as well as how to use a landspeeder tow cable to take down a walker. You will need to beat all the battle and survival missions on Master difficulty in order to obtain Master. While the battle missions can be played against another player for fun/competition, it will not earn you stars/credits or trophy progress, so those are best done solo. The training and survival missions can be done in co-op, either split screen or with a friend online, and it is strongly suggested you do them with a partner to make it easier. It is suggested that you start with the tutorial, followed by doing all the training missions, battle missions, and survival missions. For some of us, this seems to give your character a mind of his own, as he seems to sometimes use perks and do other things on his own at random! I strongly encourage you to go to the game's controller settings menu and disable "touchpad gestures".
The game has touch pad gestures enabled by default. If you enjoy shooters and/or a Star Wars fanboy, you will have a great time overall and are in for a ton of fun. If you are looking for a quick easy plat, these aren't the trophies your'e looking for, you can go about your business, move along. You also need to play survival on master difficulty, which isn't quite as rough being that you can do it in co-op (split screen or online), customize your weapons and perks (once you beat it on hard mode), and there are good camping spots for safe survival. Then, there are battle missions, similar to Call of Duty's kill confirmed, that will need to be played solo against unforgiving AI on master difficulty. The tutorial and training missions are actually nice, as they give you a proper introduction & play area to get comfortable with the many different weapons/perks/vehicles in the game. There are also a set of missions tacked on to give people the wrong impression that there is a campaign that you can play solo/co-op. Playing the objective can be hard to get as it requires personally having the most kills overall between both teams in a game of Blast. The first requires cumulatively trampling 25 rebel scum with an AT-ST, which is a struggle as many are keen on how to take your machine down fast, and run a brave retreat to avoid being trampled. There are two trophies that will likely be the hardest to come by for many players. Most of the online trophies will drop naturally (or with relative ease) as you play thru the nine different multiplayer game modes and make your way to rank 50. The majority of the fun, your game time, and the trophies, will be in online multiplayer. While it doesn't quite have the all features one would hope for, such as a campaign, this is still a fun game that most will enjoy immensely. There are an array of weapons/perks, vehicles and hero/villain power-ups at your disposal. You can play online multiplayer and missions against AI, both in first or third person.
Star Wars: Battlefront is a reboot of the franchise, quite different from the previous Battlefront releases and also different from EA Dice's Battlefield series.
